33 giant Chinese infrastructure projects that are reshaping the world

Image
A huge change is underway in China. Over the next 10 years, the country plans to move  250 million people  — the equivalent of Indonesia's entire population — into the country's rapidly growing megacities. To accommodate that enormous migration, the country has invested billions of dollars in massive infrastructure projects. Some are already complete, while others are still in the works. From highways that span the continent and the largest wind-power base in the world to enormous airports and new cities in the desert, China is showing what it really means to do big things. Robert Johnson and Vivian Giang contributed to an earlier version of this story. $110 MILLION: The Pingtang telescope was finally turned on in September 2016 and is now the world's second-largest radio telescope. Its dish measures 1,640 feet across. Reuters $176 MILLION: The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory is where many of China's major scientific projects...

The Battle of Bastards: when John Snow sees his own stupidity!

Image
I have just viewed the 9th episode of season 6 of the Game of Thrones entitled, the battle of bastards. This episode has a captivating scenery of a stunning battlefield. This is similar to the Brave Heart movie where the legendary William Wallace defies the English army in a deadly battle but after he suffers a personal tragedy which leads to his death. John Snow, the leading character, is one of the "Bastards" in Game of Thrones Tv show. His bravery contest is controversial here. He takes the wrong decision to engage in a battle he would loose. John might have been killed, again,  and his soldiers as well if his sister, Stanza, "saves" him. I think, John is awful when his younger brother is killed. Like I say, humans are born to see their own stupidity especially when "shit" happens. From another point, the visual action effects on this episode are overwhelming and remind me of the 3OO movie and the Vikings Tv show . What I appreciate most in Ga...

Game of Thrones isn't the first serial or film production to choose Morocco for filming. In addition to great movies such as Kingdom of Heavn, Babel, Gladiator,... there is now a tendance to serial producers to  filmin Morocco. Nowdays, Prison Break new season is being filmed in Morocco. Ourzazate, a city in southern desert Morocco, is the capital of cinema. It has large studios (Atlas studitos) and natural vistas.  Game of thrones  was filmed in the following locations: The valley of Ait Benhaddou (Pentos and Yunkar, the yellow city) While Yunkar, represents a city where slaves are traded, Ait Benhaddou, a city of yore made of clay, might have been a slavery place as well but has for sure impressend the GOT producers .   Ait Benhaddou Wikipedia Essaouira  ( Astapor Home of the Unsullied) Essaouira or Mogador is a city in on the Atantic coast in southern Morocco famous for its Gnaoua annual festival. In GOT, it is  ...

This is Ali

Image
This is so far the greatest sport picture of the 20th century. This photo was shot by Sports Illustrated magazine photographer Neil Leifer on 25/05/1965 in Lewiston. It was taken during a rematch between a 23 years old heavyweight boxing champion Mohamed Ali and a 34 years old Sonny Liston from whol Ali snatched the title 15 months prior. Ali's right fist connected with Liston's chin and the latter went down in 1 min. 44 s. The photographer didn't see the punch. Yet he snapped  this greatest photo showing Ali towering over his vanquished opponent, taunting him. "Get up and fight, sucker!". Ali cried.  This image is more representative. Leifer conveys through it the defiance, endurance and Ali's dominance. Rest in Peace Mohamed Ali and may Allah offer you a boxing ring in paradise.

Thus spoke Muhammad

This sermon was delivered by the prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) on the Ninth Day of Dhul-Hijjah, 10 A.H. ( 632 CE ) in the 'Uranah valley of Mount Arafat in Makkah. It was the occasion of the annual rites of Hajj (the pilgrimage). It is also known as the Farewell Pilgrimage. After praising, and thanking ALLAH (The One True God) the Prophet began with the words: "O People! lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore, listen carefully to what I am saying and Take These Words to Those Who Could Not Be Present Here Today . “O People! just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds. “Allah has forbidden you to take usury (intere...
